 The Armenian Defense Ministry confirmed that soldier Gor Manasaryan was killed at the Armenian-Azeri armed forces’ contact line. An investigation is underway, RA Defense Minister’s spokesman, col. Seyran Shahsuvaryan told PanARMENIAN.Net, adding that the serviceman was without helmet, bullet-proof vest or some special devices. |

The European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy said that it took the opportunity of the EU French presidency (July to December 2008) to draw the attention of Mr. Sarkozy, the French president and the new President of the EU, on the expectations and concerns of the European Armenian citizens. |

 The European Armenian Federation recently alerted the European Commission on the condemnation of the Turkish dissident Ragip Zarakolu in virtue of the Turkish Penal Code 301 article and the new violation of principles of freedom and democracy (that this case constitutes). The Federation reminds that these principles are supposed to constitute a prerequisite for Turkey’s EU accession. |
